As a poet, photographer, filmmaker, among other things, I have confronted many a blank page. And learned to befriend it.

 

I have a BA degree in Literature and an MFA in Film Production. I have worked as an student advisor and curriculum developer for twenty years and a program coordinator for eighteen. I have a certificate in Core Strength Coaching from SF State’s College of Extended Learning and I am currently enrolled in the Coaching Training Institute’s certification program in San Rafael. Coaching, Creativity and Collaboration are my hallmarks – my passions.

More than anything being a poet, has prepared me for being a for being a creativity coach, because to be a poet you have to be attentive, and curious, listen to your intuition, you have to let the truth in and then say the unsayable. In other words: you need to be ready to discover what has not yet been disclosed and give voice to it. Every time a poet starts a poem, they have to confront the blank page.
